Since 1787, the Comte Lafond and Ladoucette families have possessed the most prominent and well-known vineyards of Pouilly-Fumé. The estate was acquired by Comte Lafond from the illegitimate daughter of Louis XV, the French king at that time.

Presently, the property is under the ownership of Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, who is a descendant of Comte Lafond. Pouilly-Fumé has gained immense recognition as an exceptional white wine worldwide.

After assuming control of Ladoucette in 1972, the Baron expanded his endeavors to include Sancerre, Chablis, Vouvray, and Chinon.

Currently, the Baron produces exceptional wines from the Loire Valley, bearing the labels de Ladoucette, Marc Bredif, La Poussie, Regnard, and Baron Patrick. Many of these wines, including Pouilly-Fumé de Ladoucette, Baron de L, and Comte Lafond, are regarded as the finest examples of their respective types.
