Eric Taillet, the current steward of Maison Taillet since 1995, continues the legacy begun by his father, Daniel Taillet, who planted his inaugural meunier vines in 1956 near Montigny within the Marne Valley's core, specifically on the renowned 'le Bois de Binson' vineyard. Eric's passion for meunier, a grape variety flourishing in the Marne valley, is evident in his cultivation of over 80% of his 5.5 hectares of vineyards near Baslieux-sous-Châtillon with this grape.

An advocate for meunier's virtues, Eric founded the Meunier Institute to elevate this grape, often overshadowed by chardonnay and pinot noir in Champagne. His commitment extends to sustainable practices in the vineyards, where chemical pesticides are eschewed in favor of promoting biodiversity through cover crops and hundreds of newly planted beech hedges.

Eric's dedication to excellence and innovation is evident in his cellar experiments with grape varieties like pinot gris and petit meslier. Initially admired for their fruity accessibility, Taillet champagnes now showcase growing complexity and expressiveness each vintage.

Dry, charismatic, and versatile, Taillet champagnes are equally delightful as a pre-dinner indulgence or as accompaniments to diverse culinary experiences.
