Color: Ruby garnet with violet reflections.
Nose: Made from Grenache, Carignan and Alicante Bouschet, the 2014 Kepos di Ampelaia is clearly a child of its origins in the nose: Toscana. With dark berries such as blackberries and mulberries, the present sour cherry balances the red-fruity cascade, which is complemented by pomegranate and elderberry. Slightly balsamic notes of thyme and bay are supported by mildly spicy aromas of juniper and incense.
Mouth: A refreshingly fresh drink hides behind the opulent nose. With slim fruit and fine extract, it is fresh and focused, flows tightly over the palate and combines Mediterranean spice with invigorating acidity and disciplined aroma. The tannins are tightly meshed and polished and take it with them into the long finish. Top Toscana without much tam tam.
