Les Chalandins sits a few metres to the south of the Clos de Vougeot. This parcel is mostly old vines; the grapes often suffer from millerandage, giving the wine a little more concentration. Winemaker Carel Voorhuis has used 50% whole bunches, emphasizing the floral and peppery aromas so typical of Vosne. The palate is silky, seductive and chalky, with a salty finish. It’s not a wine of huge power, but rather one of perfume and purity. Drink now to 2027.
