Ixsir Altitudes Rouge, Lebanon 2013

Regular price $ 20.99

The name IXSIR comes from the word "Iksir", the original Arabic word for "Elixir." Sourced from vineyards in excess of 1,000m in the Batroun District in Lebanon, it is meant to showcase its high-altitude terroir. Made with the expertise of Hubert de Boüard, of Saint Emilion's famous Château Angélus, the wine is a blend of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon; 26% Caladoc (a cross of Malbec and Grenache); 22% Syrah and 17% Tempranillo and is aged partially in French oak for 6 months. Aromas of sweet spice, blackcurrant and vanilla first greet the senses. On the palate, this is followed by notes of cassis and black cherry with licorice in the finish.
