100% Grenache Noir. From the Cave de l'Abbe Rous, a cooperative in Banyuls. This wine is oxidized in glass jugs out in the sun, then spends 7 years in casks previously used for rancio Banyuls. Occasionally, these casks also go out in the sun, to promote evaporation and concentration. Darkly nutty, with sweet earth notes and firm acidity; this wine smells sweet, but is bone-dry. Perfect for use in place of amontillado sherry in cocktails, or with hams or hard cheeses. Shelf-stable after opening.
