The Close Planted Pinot Noir comes from the top block on Timo's Bloody Hill vineyard, positioned so that this section of the vineyard sees predominantly morning sun. In contrast to the Dr Mayer cuvée, the 2021 Close Planted Pinot Noir feels plumper and carries a sweeter core of red fruit, with only 30% whole bunch used. Some crunchy, brambly acidity gives the palate wonderful tension and length.
