The 2017 Gamay Noir PTG is Pence's take on a Passe Tout Grains AOC wine, a traditional blend in Burgundy of both Pinot Noir and Gamay. An equal 50/50 blend, it was made using carbonic maceration and aged in neutral oak. It has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and nose of bright redcurrant, red cherries, peppered meats and a hint of saddle leather plus warm blueberries and a spicy touch. Light to medium-bodied, it has a good core of juicy red berry and blue fruits with soft, meaty accents, framed by very soft tannins and juicy freshness, finishing berry-laced.
