Somerston's 2014 Merlot Stornoway is gorgeous. The interplay of intense fruit and brightness is quite appealing, bright red cherry, plum, spices, menthol and licorice are all given an extra kick of lift from the lively acids of the year. The Stornoway is one of the more restrained wines in the range, but it has plenty of depth, not to mention terrific balance.
