55% Lemberger (Blaufrankisch), 35% Trollinger, 10% Regent and 10% Schwarzriesling (Pinot Meunier). This blend is medium-bodied, with dark plum and berry fruits and notes of sassafras, black tea, and peppery spice.
This natural German red blend part of a project by a pair of young winemakers to save the old, steeply terraced, stone-walled vineyards of their hometown. The tiny village of Rosswag is in southern Germany, where nearly every villager works the vineyards and sells grapes to the local co-op. Roterfaden works with the Rosswag co-op on this blend to hopefully bring more recognition to the area to ensure that these magnificent vineyards stick around for many more centuries.
