Alain Michelot's Renowned Nuits-Saint-Georges Domaine
Domaine Alain Michelot boasts an exceptional portfolio of premier cru vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges, plus small holdings in Morey Saint Denis and Clos Vougeot. With over half its 8 hectares classified as Premier Cru, this traditional domaine is regarded as one of the top producers in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
Assembled by Alain's father pre-WWII, the meticulously tended vineyards and impeccable cellars are now managed by Alain's daughter Elodie. Her deft touch maintains quality while implementing refinements like lower yields.
The winemaking favors slow evolution, with 90% whole cluster, extended cuvaison, settling, and 20 months undisturbed in 1/3 new French oak. The resulting wines are heralded for their fine tannins and terroir transparency across premier cru sites like Les St Georges.
