"While I’ve always loved the wines of Domaine de la Charbonnière, recent vintages are on another level, and I’d unquestionably put the Domaine up with the crème de la crème of the appellation today."
–Jeb Dunnuck

Established in 1914 by the Maret family, Domaine de la Charbonnière has been on a remarkable journey of improvement under fourth-generation sisters Veronique and Caroline Maret. Veronique has been the winemaker since 2007, crafting consistently excellent Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines.

Their organically farmed La Crau vineyard boasts 75-year-old Grenache vines, yielding concentrated fruit. Veronique vinifies Grenache and Mourvedre separately in wooden fermenters, resulting in plush, integrated tannins and a superb finish, as praised by Jeb Dunnuck.
