The Symington name in Portugal is synonymous with Port. But like any family they want to branch out beyond what they are known for They have long made a red table wine (not sweet) and decided to produce a white table wine. In 2017 they purchased a 511-acre property, Fonte Souto, in southern Portugal. From this property comes this blend of 75% Arinto and 25% Verdelho, this branco (white) is full of soft lemon-lime, apricot, white peach, wildflowers, summer hay, guava, nectarine and plum. It’s framed by a nice amount of acidity, and was briefly aged in both new French and “central European oak” for seven months to keep it light, crisp and refreshing.
