This new wine is from the highest-elevation point on Cooley Ranch, a wild site north of Rockpile that reaches 2,040 feet. Blended with small amounts of Petit Verdot and Malbec, it shows rocky minerality and deft tannic structure, with toasty oak and a lushness of vanilla, tobacco and dark plum.
