Leopoldo Monterrey is a wine entrepreneur and curator with more than two decades of experience in the global wine industry.

In 1999, he founded Vinos.com, the first online wine retail platform in Latin America, establishing himself as a pioneer in digital wine commerce. He later created acclaimed Miami restaurants Alter and Palmar, both recognized nationally for their award-winning wine lists by Wine Enthusiast, Food & Wine, and Wine Spectator.

Today, Leopoldo is the founder of Mr.D Wine Merchant, an online retailer offering thousands of premium wines, and Sommspace, a platform empowering sommeliers and independent professionals to connect their clients with curated selections.

His career bridges fine dining, e-commerce, and education, guided by a philosophy that wine is a bridge between history and modern life.
