Albert Boxler

There is no doubt that Albert Boxler is one of the most respected names in Alsace. This historic estate that dates back to 1673 is now under the stewardship of Jean Boxler. Passionate about his roots, his craft, and his wine, Jean produces some of the most exquisite white wines in Alsace. The Boxler's own vines in Sommerberg and Brand, two key Grand Crus in Alsace, vinifying micro-parcels within this cru separately while some de-classified juice goes into his Réserve wines. They produce multiple bottlings of Sommerberg from the different lieux-dits depending on the vintage.

The Sommerberg Grand Cru delivers rich, intensely structured, very long-lived wines, while Brand offers powerful ones, the ultimate balance to their holdings in Sommerberg.

Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc are the specialties of the Domaine. He also bottles an impressive Gewurztraminer, and some of the most expressive  Vendanges Tardives and Sélection de Grains Nobles of Alsace.
