This 50–50 blend of Syrah and Merlot begins with promising aromas of blueberry compote, cumin and orange zest. Once in the mouth, that promise falls short. The only fruit I could pick out was a modicum of dark plum, with weak black tea and dark chocolate to keep it company. The mouthfeel feels thin and the amount of heat on the tongue was distracting.
