In 2013, the historic estate commemorated its 500th anniversary, marking 19 successive generations of winegrowers in the Mellot family. Alphonse Jr. currently oversees the estate, having assumed control from his father, Alphonse Sr., a full fifteen years ago. Known as La Moussiere, the property has reached the pinnacle of quality for white wines globally. Employing organic and certified biodynamic farming practices, a skilled vineyard team prioritizes low yields and optimal ripeness. The Sauvignons exhibit exceptional precision, with each parcel meticulously defined, a characteristic that extends to their reds, perhaps even more pronouncedly. Recognized as the only three-star grower in Sancerre by la Revue du Vin de France.
