California Cabernet

California is the largest and most important wine region in the United States with a viticultural history that dates back more than 200 years but only ascended to global fame in the past few decades. Today, California hosts some of the world's largest wine producers. It is also home to a number of boutique Napa wineries, some of which attract astronomical prices as Wine Searcher indicates. The principal red variety grown in California is Cabernet Sauvignon. It is common especially among Napa wineries to bottle Bordeaux blend wine, which can include Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes.

The following is an eclectic selection of some of the most sought-after Cabernet Sauvignon and Cab-blends out there, including vintage, allocated bottlings.
