Established in 1942 through the union of Joseph Arlaud, a native of Ardèche, and Renée Amiot, hailing from a family deeply rooted in Burgundian wine culture, Domaine Arlaud boasts a rich history. Renée's dowry contributed prime vineyard parcels, complemented by Joseph's strategic acquisitions starting in 1949. In 1966, the family acquired a 14th-century historical building to age their wines, prominently featured on their labels.
Taking the reins in 1983, Hervé Arlaud, along with his wife Brigitte, expanded the estate. From 2004 to 2012, their children joined forces, contributing to the estate's growth. In 2003, operations transitioned to a modern facility in Morey Saint Denis, while the 14th-century cellar in Nuits Saint Georges still serves as the Estate's wine library and venue for special tastings—an authentic space to honor three generations of Burgundian hospitality.
In 2013, Cyprien Arlaud assumed full control of the family estate, which had expanded to 15 hectares, encompassing 19 distinct Appellation Controlled vineyard sites, including choice plots in four grand Crus: Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint Denis, Charmes Chambertin, and Bonnes Mares.
