Domaine Delagrange: A Legacy of Stellar Burgundy Winemaking Across Top Appellations

Domaine Delagrange, a family-run winery, has been crafting exceptional Burgundy wines for six generations. With vines spanning the prestigious communes of Volnay, Pommard, Aloxe Corton, Meursault, and the Haute-Côte de Beaune, Domaine Delagrange has mastered the art of producing classic, terroir-driven Burgundies.

Established in 1947 when René Delagrange bottled the Premier Cru "Clos des Chenes," the domaine has been based in Volnay. Over the years, the estate has evolved under the guidance of successive generations, including Henri Delagrange, his wife Gisele, and their son Didier.

Expansion and Innovation at Domaine Delagrange In 1990, Didier Delagrange spearheaded the domaine's expansion by planting Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, doubling their holdings. When he took over in 2003, Didier continued to acquire small plots in Meursault, Aloxe-Corton, and the Volnay Premier Cru "Les Champans."

Today, with Alexis Delagrange joining the team, Domaine Delagrange owns a total of 15 hectares of meticulously tended vineyards. Many of their vines are situated near the border between Volnay and Pommard, benefiting from the geological contrast that imparts distinct characters to the wines.

Minimal Intervention, Maximum Terroir Expression To capture the essence of each terroir, Domaine Delagrange employs minimal intervention techniques. They prune, thin, and trellis by hand, and in the cellar, they ferment with indigenous yeasts and use new oak judiciously, resulting in complex and well-balanced wines that reflect the unique terroirs of Burgundy.
