Founded by Russ and Mary Raney in 1986, Evesham Wood saw its first vines planted in Le Puits Sec Vineyard in 1989. Russ, who has since passed away, initiated organic farming practices in the early 1990s and achieved organic certification in 2000. As members of The Deep Roots Coalition, a consortium of over 30 wineries, they committed to refraining from irrigating estate fruit and purchasing irrigated fruit. In 2007, Erin Nuccio began crafting his own wine (Haden Fig) at Evesham Wood while working there. When the Raneys decided to retire, Nuccio assumed the roles of winemaker and owner in 2010, admirably maintaining the exceptional quality established by the Raneys.
