Frédéric Magnien is recognized as one of the most astute and talented young winemakers currently active in the Côte d'Or region. Hailing from the fifth generation of his family in Morey-St-Denis, he collaborated with his respected father, Michel Magnien, post his wine school education. After gaining valuable experience with Pinot producers in California and Australia, Frédéric reunited with his father in 1993. Two years later, he established his own négociant label, which has emerged as a notable success story in the Burgundy wine scene.

Operating without personal vineyards, Frédéric excels in procuring fruit from small holdings in prime plots across esteemed vineyards. Initially leveraging his father's connections, he has since expanded his network to include growers in Morey-St-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Chambolle-Musigny. In the winemaking process, Frédéric employs a largely hands-off approach, allowing each wine to authentically reflect its unique vineyard origins. His commitment is evident in bottling the wines unfined and unfiltered, presenting a modern touch with flamboyant labels on distinctly designed bottles. While some consumers appreciate this approach, it may be less appealing to others.
