In 1988, Arnaldo Etchart brought Michel Rolland to Cafayate for the first time. Michel and Arnaldo formed a partnership after being seduced by the exceptional potential of an old Malbec vineyard located 6,700 feet above sea level.
The grapes are hand-picked from the 60-year-old vines at Finca Yacochuya in Valles Calchaques, and the wines are aged in French oak barrels. In Argentina, Yacochuya wines were the first to undergo barrel fermentation. These wines are the culmination of the Finca Yacochuya vineyard, the Etchart family's knowledge of grape growing in this distinctive high-altitude region of Cafayate, and the enthusiasm and skill of Michel Rolland, one of the world's foremost winemakers.
