Perhaps the most perfumed and fragrant of the 2014 crus is the 2014 San Juan, a little-known bottling that was seldom produced (and sold exclusively to Puerto Rico). It is produced with grapes from a small valley parallel to Atauta called San Juan, where the 0.47-hectares are divided in seven very small plots planted with ancient vines that somehow reminds me of La Roza, perhaps a little lighter and not as deep and complex. The wine is delicious, with an intoxicating nose and a silky palate, and even if the acidity is not very high, it has great freshness, probably provided by the minerality imparted by the sandy soils over decomposed limestone mother rock. Mineral elegance. Again, bad news about the price and availability, as they only produced 269 bottles of it. It was bottled in June 2016.
