Jean Voirin, a vineyard owner who transitioned from bulk grape sales to crafting his own champagne post-World War II, joined forces with the Jumel family, known for their vineyards in Côte des Blancs. In the 1970s, Francoise Jumel and Gilles Voirin established Voirin-Jumel, shifting from bulk sales to bottled champagne. By the 1990s, the next generation, Patrick and Alice, along with Valerie, managed the domaine. Today, Voirin-Jumel, with 11 hectares across 11 villages, meticulously vinifies each grape lot separately, undergoes malolactic fermentation, and ages each champagne for a minimum of 3-4 years. With very low dosages, their champagnes highlight diverse terroirs, including Cramant, Chouilly, Avize, Oiry, Oger, Mareuil-sur-Ay, Vertus, Verneuil, and others. This family's hands-on approach ensures quality from cultivation to the final bottled product.
