In the Vineyard: An exceptional cava made from exceptionally unique plots in the Penedés, from the three characteristic grapes used in the production of cava, Macabeo, Xare·lo and Parellada. The vineyards are operated under strict sustainable principles (100% ecologic certificate) to obtain the highest quality fruit in the denomination.
In the winery: The winery founder, Agusti Torello, first launched Kripta in 1978, which has since become the most awarded cava since its first gold medal in Bratislava in 1984. Each variety is vinified separately at a constant temperature of 16ºC at the cellar with indigenous yeasts, selected from each variety before the harvest to fully respect the expression of the grape and its soil. Kripta cavas are aged for a minimum of 7 years on its lees with natural cork in the bottle before disgorgement and subsequent commercialization.
In the palate: This is a wine best described as complex, intense and marvelous. Yellow reflections. Very creamy with notes of ripe fruit, intense baked apple, toasty notes and pastries. It's like drinking a delicate wine pastry.
