Mediterranean is how Francisco Barona describes the torrid conditions in 2022. Reflecting his hard work in the vineyards, this comes from 11 different old-vine parcels in Anguix, La Aguilera, La Horra and Roa and is a skilfully judged blend of Tinto Fino and 25% Garnacha, Bobal, Albillo Mayor and Jaen. Bold, intensely coloured and aged in new French oak, it has layers of plum, blackberry and sweet spices, glossy tannins and added complexity from 20% whole bunches. 2027-2035.
