This medium ruby colored Mencia opens with a aromatic plump craisin and strawberry licorice bouquet with a hint of triple sec. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, and very smooth and silky. The flavor profile is a stewed black plum, earthy soil, and pomegranate blend. I also detected notes of craisin, tart berries, and toasted oak mixed in. The finish is dry, and its rustic flavors and medium tannins are nicely extended.
