The 2021 Garnacha de Viña Bonita is pure Garnacha from a plot of very old vines planted in 1929 on very shallow and compact granite soils at 735 meters in altitude with north-facing exposure. It is always subtle and elegant. It fermented with 8% full clusters and indigenous yeasts in oak vats for over six weeks and matured in two well-seasoned 600-liter oak barrels. This has very low alcohol, 13%, lower than in other years, and the wine feels more delicate and fine-boned, floral and ethereal. The palate shows elegance and refinement, with the backbone of granite minerality that lifts it up. It has good freshness and balance that give it length.
