The Couvent des Jacobins has an attractive bouquet with blackberry, brown spices and a touch of game. Perhaps there is just a tiny bit of brettanomyces in this sample? The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, crisp acidity, a little pinched on the mid-palate with a structured finish.
