The 2022 Francisco Barona comes from the Ribera Del Duero and is 95% old massal selections of Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and 5% field blended varieties. Its deep purple hue is followed by a rocking bouquet of pure cassis-like fruit intermixed with graphite, classy oak, lead pencil, and subtle floral nuances. It's rich, full-bodied, has a deep, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It reminds me of a great Bordeaux.
