Turley Wine Hayne Vineyard Petite Sirah | Napa Valley 2022
Turley Wine Hayne Vineyard Petite Sirah | Napa Valley 2022
93 points, Robert Parker (Matthew Luczy)
Turley is the cult name in California Petite Sirah and old-vine Zinfandel, and Hayne Vineyard is one of its crown jewels — a legendary old-vine site in St. Helena, Napa Valley. The 2022 is full of character: earthy, floral and savory, with bright acids and searing, chewy tannins framing a dense core of roasted plum, cassis and toasted coconut with dark spice. With terrific depth and textural intensity — and from a measly 1.1 tons per acre — it's sure to be long-lived. As Robert Parker's Matthew Luczy wrote, it is "as poised and graceful as this variety can possibly be."
Drink 2025–2035. Decant an hour; serve at 62–65°F. Superb with grilled and braised red meats, short ribs, lamb, and hard aged cheese.
