Musqué-clone Sauvignon Blanc from the legendary Hyde Vineyard — the debut vineyard-designate from a DRC-trained winemaker.

Ampleur Cellars is the project of Morgan Maureze, a fifth-generation vintner who trained at UC Davis, took his master's at Bordeaux, and interned at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Starting in 2024 he began sourcing Musqué-clone Sauvignon Blanc from Larry Hyde's famed Carneros vineyard — one of Napa's most storied sites — and vineyard-designating it from that vintage forward.

Hyde Vineyard fruit in the hands of a DRC-trained winemaker is a serious white at a fair number. Musqué clone, benchmark site, micro-production → the pedigree reads like a cult wine → at $118.99 you're drinking Hyde Vineyard from a rising Napa name.

  • Sauvignon Blanc (Musqué clone)
  • Hyde Vineyard, Carneros — Napa Valley
  • Morgan Maureze — UC Davis, Bordeaux, DRC-trained
  • Debut vineyard-designate, micro-production

Aromatic white peach, Meyer lemon and honeysuckle over a textural, mineral palate with a long saline finish. Translation: this is Sauvignon Blanc with real depth — the Musqué clone brings floral perfume, the Hyde site brings texture and length. Far from a simple crisp white.

A debut Hyde Vineyard bottling from a winemaker with DRC on his résumé. Exactly the white to pour for someone who thinks they know Sauvignon Blanc.
