Armand Heitz is a rising star of the Côte de Beaune, farming historic family vineyards (some since 1857) biodynamically under a regenerative-agriculture philosophy. Chassagne is famous for its whites, but Morgeot was for centuries a red-wine site — and Heitz's red "Morgeot" honors that history. Pinot Noir from the Petit Clos and Tête du Clos parcels just below Romanée and Grandes Ruchottes: silky, bright and delicate, a beautiful and unusual expression of red Chassagne.

Bright strawberry and tart cherry over earthy mushroom, delicate spice and a subtle mineral edge with silky, fine tannins, fresh acidity and an airy, persistent finish. Translation: a silky, delicate red Chassagne — bright red fruit with earth and spice over fine, airy tannins. Perfumed and fresh, with none of the rough edges of typical Chassagne rouge; a lovely rarity.
