Domaine du Cellier aux Moines Montagny 1er Cru Les Combes
Les Combes is a Premier Cru white Burgundy from Montagny, in the Côte Chalonnaise, made from Chardonnay grown on a south-facing parcel of young vines planted in 2010. It is a fresh, mineral Chardonnay from one of the oldest monastic estates in Burgundy.
Tasting Notes
The nose is restrained at first, with a flinty edge, preserved lemon, white flowers, ripe pear and orchard fruit. The palate is medium to full bodied, with lively acidity, generous fruit and a fleshy, textured finish where minerality and ripeness meet.
About Domaine du Cellier aux Moines
The Cellier aux Moines, the monks' cellar, was founded around 1130 in Givry by Cistercian monks from the Abbey of La Ferté. Philippe and Catherine Pascal bought and restored the estate in 2004, and the wines are made by Guillaume Marko in a gravity-fed winery. The domaine was the first in Givry to farm organically and is certified biodynamic by Biodyvin.
How to Serve and Food Pairing
