The undisputed reference of the Roussillon — old-vine Carignan and Grenache from a legendary biodynamic estate.

Domaine Gauby is the mythic estate of the Roussillon. Former rugby international Gérard Gauby revolutionized the region from the 1980s, and today his son Lionel farms 85 organic-and-biodynamic hectares in Calce — vines up to 125 years old on limestone, marl and schist, surrounded by oak forest and garrigue. The "Vieilles Vignes" Rouge is the estate's benchmark red: old-vine Carignan, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, powerful yet pure.

Old-vine reds from the Roussillon's defining estate are exactly what serious drinkers seek out. Rated 93–95, deep yet digestible → a genuine cult reference → at $58.99 you're drinking one of southern France's greatest estates.

  • Carignan (125-yr vines), Syrah, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre
  • IGP Côtes Catalanes — Calce, Roussillon
  • Domaine Gauby — organic/biodynamic, 85ha polyculture
  • Aged 14–18 months in French oak

Fresh black fruits and licorice over garrigue herbs and spice, with a magnificent, spiced tannic structure — rich but never heavy, carried by vibrant freshness. Translation: deep, pure, mineral southern-French red — dark fruit and wild herbs with real energy and a long, savory finish.

A cult old-vine red from the Roussillon's reference estate. Exactly the bottle for duck, daube or a cassoulet — or the cellar.
