The domaine's top cuvée — 1950s old-vine Sancerre from a Dujac-trained grower, made in tiny quantities.

"Ovide" is the flagship of Domaine Gérard & Pierre Morin in Bué, named for the shepherd neighbor who planted these gnarled old vines in the 1950s. Grown on stony caillottes just steps from the cellar, part-aged in used barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it's one of Sancerre's most ageworthy whites — and it's made in tiny quantities. Pierre Morin trained at Burgundy's Domaine Dujac.

Old-vine, tiny-production Sancerre from a top organic grower is a connoisseur's white. 1950s vines, unfiltered, ~200 cases → the domaine's flagship cuvée → you're drinking Sancerre at its most serious.

  • 100% Sauvignon Blanc
  • Sancerre — Bué, Loire Valley
  • Domaine Gérard & Pierre Morin — organic, Dujac-trained
  • 1950s old vines on caillottes; part-barrel; unfiltered; tiny production

Lemon, grapefruit and elderflower over deep green-herb and stony mineral tones with zingy acidity and a long, textured finish. Translation: serious, concentrated, ageworthy Sancerre — citrus and herb over a deep mineral core with real length. The old-vine flagship, made in tiny amounts.

The domaine's old-vine flagship in vanishingly small quantity. Exactly the Sancerre to cellar or to pour when it truly matters.
