Christian Moueix's very first vineyard — pure-gravel Pomerol with elegance and finesse.

Château La Grave (formerly La Grave Trigant de Boisset) was Christian Moueix's first vineyard purchase, acquired in 1971. It sits on the western Pomerol plateau on almost pure gravel — the same mile-long gravel strip that runs through Cheval Blanc to Figeac — planted 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. Under the Moueix team it's prized for elegance and lightness of touch rather than sheer power.

Moueix-farmed Pomerol at this price is where Right Bank insiders shop. 85% Merlot, pure-gravel terroir, Moueix pedigree → the same hands behind Pétrus's stable → at $93.99 you're drinking real Pomerol finesse.

  • 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc
  • Pomerol — Bordeaux, France
  • Château La Grave — Christian Moueix's first vineyard (1971)
  • Pure-gravel terroir; elegant, finesse-driven style

Fresh cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry with a floral touch of elderflower over soft, round tannins and a hint of licorice. Translation: fresh, airy, seductive Pomerol — red-fruited and floral with charm and finesse rather than heft. Soft, round and thoroughly satisfying.

Pomerol from the man who built the modern Moueix legend, off his very first vineyard. Exactly how you drink the Right Bank with finesse.
