The second wine of Pichon Lalande — Second-Growth Pauillac pedigree, and one of Bordeaux's finest "seconds."

Réserve de la Comtesse is the second wine of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, the celebrated Second Growth in Pauillac now owned by Champagne Louis Roederer. Drawn from the same storied gravel terroir as the grand vin, the 2022 is widely called one of the most accomplished second wines in all of Bordeaux — and the 2022 is unusual in carrying all the Petit Verdot the property produced.

Second-Growth Pauillac DNA at a second-wine price is one of Bordeaux's great values. James Suckling and Falstaff both scored it 95 → the grand vin costs many times more → at $90.99 you're buying Pichon Lalande's terroir and winemaking.

  • 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc
  • Second wine of Pichon Lalande (2nd Growth, Pauillac)
  • 14 months in 50% new oak; owned by Louis Roederer
  • 2022 — includes all the estate's Petit Verdot

"Blackcurrants, dark plums and orange peel… muscular and chewy but not overdone, building to a crescendo of intensity." Translation: plush black cherry, graphite and dried flowers with velvety tannins — a glamorous Pauillac to drink from 2029 for 15+ years.

Second-Growth Pauillac pedigree, 95 points, at a fraction of the grand vin. Exactly how you get Pichon Lalande into the cellar.
