Native Dalmatian Plavac Mali from steep Adriatic slopes — from the pioneer who sparked Croatia's modern wine revival.

Zlatan Otok was founded in 1986 by Zlatan Plenković, a fisherman-turned-winemaker who became the pioneer of private winemaking in modern Croatia. On the island of Hvar, the estate farms Plavac Mali — a native Dalmatian grape and offspring of Zinfandel — by hand on steep limestone slopes above the Adriatic, where sun, sea and tiny yields concentrate the fruit. This is authentic, sun-soaked Dalmatian red.

Native-grape Plavac from a pioneering Croatian estate is a genuine discovery. Plavac Mali (Zinfandel's cousin), steep Hvar slopes, hand-farmed → dark, herbal, saline → you're drinking authentic Dalmatia.

  • 100% Plavac Mali
  • Island of Hvar — Dalmatia, Croatia
  • Zlatan Otok — Zlatan Plenković, since 1986
  • Steep limestone coastal slopes · hand-farmed

Dark cherry, blueberry and red plum over Dalmatian herbs, spice and a saline, earthy edge with fine tannins and a bright, persistent finish. Translation: a sun-soaked but savory Mediterranean red — dark fruit and herbs with a distinctive salinity and earthiness on fine tannins. Robust yet lifted; try it slightly chilled with grilled food.

Native Plavac Mali from a pioneering Hvar estate. Exactly the bottle for grilled meats, stews, or an adventurous drinker.
