Bruno Paillard
Bruno Paillard, born in Reims in 1953, hails from a lineage deeply rooted in the Grands Crus villages of Bouzy and Verzenay dating back to 1704. In 1981, fueled by a passion for creating a Champagne of unmatched purity and elegance, he established his own Champagne House, defying the conservative norms of the region. Over the years, Bruno Paillard's innovative approach, from the first "above-ground" cellar in 1984 to the acquisition of vineyards in 1994, has garnered recognition, with his daughter Alice now leading the family business. The Maison's 25-hectare vineyard, representing half of its grape needs, is a testament to a patient quest guided by a deep understanding of the Champagne region and a precise vision for the resulting wines, with plantings carefully tailored to the diverse terroirs of Champagnes. The vineyard, composed of 89 individual plots, includes 19 Crus, with a focus on predominantly chalky terroirs, and features varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier, boasting an average vine age of 32 years.
