Cabernet Sauvignon makes up just over half of this wine, with the rest Merlot (19%), Cabernet Franc (17%), Petit Verdot (7%) and a smidgen of Malbec (5%). The aromas are subdued, with notes of dried cherry, raspberry, chocolate and barrel spice. A full-bodied palate full of fruit and barrel flavors follow, with the latter winning out on the finish. It shows a bit of astringency that needs time to settle. There are good things happening, but they need time to meld.
