Domaine Denizot Prémices Sancerre Blanc, Loire, France 2023
Domaine Denizot is located in Verdigny, a town bordering Sancerre in the Loire Valley. It is owned by Jennifer and Thibauld Denizot, representing the sixth generation of the family to run this estate. The vineyard extends over 20.5 hectares spread between two renowned appellations: Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. Most of the terroir is made up of caillottes, while the rest is made up of white earth. The vineyard is managed using sustainable agriculture, with little intervention in the cellar.
Prémices is made from Sauvignon Blanc. After manual harvesting, the harvest is put into direct pressing and fermentation occurs with neutral yeasts selected in concrete and stainless-steel vats. The wine is aged for approximately 12 months on fine lees.
The nose offers a very pleasant bouquet of white flowers, citrus fruits and white-fleshed fruit. The palate is frank, quite dense with a certain minerality, very balanced.
