Sourced from a young block of Cabernet Franc vines using three different clones. Steiner, a California Heirloom selection, and 214 & 327 selections from the Loire Valley. They brilliantly balance fresh, zesty red berries and a savoury herbal edge. The Eola Springs Vineyard is the source of this Cabernet Franc field blend with plenty of old vine fruit on offer—a complexity and depth without richness. A core of red and blue berry fruits backs light, airy herbal aromatics of wild fennel and bay leaf. The palate is zesty and alive. Notes of savoury pine sap, wild mountain huckleberry, and mint make one think of the Loire.
