Dark ruby color, with some garnet undertones. The nose shows ripe plum, as well as green coffee bean character. Full-bodied, with very soft and round tannins and ripe fruit. Turns to coffee, sweet tobacco and berries on the finish. Give it another couple years to mellow. 1998 Piedmont blind retrospective.
